That reminded me of some of my work in South America

I was working in the J6 directorate (C4I) at Southcom, and we were looking at putting in communications to small temporary bases US forces would use periodically. At one location, their terrestrial phone switch was really old, and it only had two available numbers until it was at 100% capacity. One thing I also noticed around town was their cell phone availability. They might have had a "3rd world" phone switch, but they had a "1st world"/modern cell phone availability.

It was amazing how they could gain that technology so cheaply, and so easy. I see 5G technology doing the same for "broad band" not only in the US, but world wide.
