He's great, but Real Madrid wants him apparently.

Spurs have offered to double his wages. I think they could probably offer to triple them or quadruple them and it wouldn't matter if he really wants to play for Madrid.

If Real Madrid or Barcelona go after him, he's gone, and we'll get a crap load of money for him. If they don't go after him, then he'll stay and probably sign a new contract. He either leaves or signs a new contract this summer, because he's only got 1 year left after this season. Can't let a guy like that leave on a free.
