I'm kinda there

Started two years ago when they dumped their Verizon.net email told me I had 30 days to switch to their new acquisition AOL email or pound sand. I hate AOL. Better for them b/c it serves out ads and news and all those clickbait tricks like having the sign-in over in the corner and the rest of the splash page is an ad so you hit it every once in a while.

dropped Verizon cell phone (6 gigs a month vs 1-2gigs for $5 cheaper) and voila, my internet goes up $20/mo a couple months later w/o notice. Also my tv is $30/month for local service only.

Anyway, rearranging my emails (eg, I use the Verizon for a lot of my profiles so moving to gmail will take time) and will look into a tv antenna, heck, i'm only 10-20 miles each way from major metropolitian tv stations so I predict this works out well.

They used to be the good guys, they've drunken the AOL coolaid.

PS I love how you can't cancel anything on the website. Oh, easy as heck to sign up for stuff, but hotel CaliFiosa, you can never leave.

PPS I considered the verizon.net email address as part of my monthly package I WAS PAYING FOR so when the switched to AOL which is essentially free for everyone they basically dropped service and acted like it was a feature.
