.....a six hour radius from VT is a very very competitive area to compete. GA, NC, SC, VA, DC, MD, PA are all fought hard over. Virginia kids basically have no loyalty to the state schools like they did with Beamer and Welsh. VT is not going to pluck kids from far away places like the big boys. Don't see Matthew Stafford leaving Dallas to attend VT like he did Georgia. Don't see Santonio Holmes leaving Florida to attend VT like he did Ohio State. Our best recruiting ground is the state of NC by far-especially Greensboro. What the hell happened to MD? We used to get a lot of good players from Maryland and that has dried up.
