Frank and staff were great at getting us on the national stage in '99 (3 Bowl Alliance/BCS Bowls in 5 seasons) they simply could not handle that next phase to get us over the hump. We had a huge recruiting opportunity in those years following. Yeah, we got Kevin Jones but how did we miss out on landing a great QB? Somebody posted this week our recruiting ranking in '02 or '03 was 44. Frank knew what worked to that point and stuck with it to a fault. I see some of those characteristics in Fuente. Neither seems comfortable making the necessary changes and bringing in those big ego coaches to help with recruiting. Dabo had his Druck in Tajh Boyd and Vick in Watson but he was able to continue to build on that.
