This will be the new normal in college football
Under the old rules, players were basically locked at a school. Even if a player wasn't getting the playing time he wanted, going to play at another school was virtually impossible.
But players and families protested that, and now, players can announce their intent to transfer and put their names out again to be re-recruited. It will be the new chaos of college football. A player gets passed on the depth chart by a freshman, he'll take his stuff and go play elsewhere.
Don't get me wrong, its his right, and I wish him well. This was announced back in November and I'm guessing the decision was the result of Dax, Farley and Artis jumping up the depth chart as better players.
