Another option: does it have full (comprehensive) insurance?


And are you listed on the insurance policy as the owner?

If you are short on scruples, you could always drive it into a lake and report it as stolen. Now that does put you at risk for filing a false police report...

If you have collision coverage, you could drive it into the same lake and report it as an accident. You got out without setting the parking brake and it rolled down the ramp into the lake. Wouldn't do that at a boat ramp, since there might be a lot of disgruntled fishermen wanting to launch and recover their boats...lol Now that will put points on your license, so you have to balance the increased insurance premiums with your insurance payout.
