I don't believe that at all
I think Saban’s demeanor on the sidelines from the 2nd qtr on showed that he was resigned to his fate. He didn’t get upset or angry and when did you ever see that before? He realized that Clemson was better and there was nothing he could do about it. The fake FG was an early attempt to do something, anything, to change it, but he knew that he couldn’t. He was different on the sidelines than I've ever seen him before
