Nothing to do with the booth.
I had only seen one game in 12 years when I got home from overseas in 2003 and settled in to watch Tech take on WVU. We looked like crap, couldn't tackle, including that DeAngelo Hall guy I was hearing about, my dead grandmother. Tech's team this year showed some of the characteristics that have shown up often since that time when I have been able to follow them, especially what I call the bounce-off tackle. Instead of wrapping up, players try to 1960's electric football lineman block a runner down. This is on Foster I can only fathom. He seems to put up with it. I wouldn't. But he gets paid $900 big ones and knows more than I. Still I am curious why that form of tackling persists til today. It doesn't seem to work. Bud wasn't in the booth until this year. Still glad we got him.
