Compaq, Kodak, Pan Am, and Blockbuster all seemed invincible too


until they did a poor job of adapting to a changing marketplace.

Being big doesn't protect you from being gone. It does let you survive a bad decade or so where smaller companies would be driven out of business. But if you've got a bad strategy executed poorly, even the mightiest can fall.
