Funny story

Back in the day when I was a young buck- around 1970- my family decided on a family vacation on we were going to Maine and then Canada. My dad had classmates from his days at vet school at Oklahoma State. So I lived in small town Virginia and my parents had grown up in North Carolina- so the New York accent was not exactly part of the lexicon... particularly in that day and age.
My Dad is asking how to get to XYZ and he had two different New Yorkers tell him to go to the "top of the bridge". While my Dad is talking to the second one (a toll attendant) he finally determines he means the Tappan Zee bridge. Not sure if the toll attendant or my Dad was laughing harder.
