One thing you'll get with a BGE...

Is that the company will stand by their product. If something breaks (and you weren't negligent), they'll replace it for free. I got my green egg when it was an auction item for my kids' school PTA. The drawback is that every little thing and add-on is a la carte. I'm in the process right now of designing a custom table for it. The tables the BGE and Challenger make for them are astronomically expensive.
While the BGE is the cadillac, it lasts forever, and is so easy to learn to cook on.
