Based solely on my memory of 90's Spanish curriculum


in the Harrisonburg City school system I believe:

Juan equals standard first name
Marco equals standard middle name
Hernandez equals paternal last name
Ramirez equals maternal last name

Therefore, the most common version would be Juan Hernandez, though to your point and/or observation, I suppose those names could be a bit more inter-mixed than maybe even I'm led to believe.
