...of the shows, where everything is made out to be easy and quick. I'm the type that doesn't trust most people to do any work in/on my house and instead I usually do everything myself, unless I just don't have time or it's something I don't have the capability of doing. As such, things take a while to get completed because I don't have much spare time, but at least I know they're done properly. HGTV seems to make women think that everything is easy and quick, which is obviously BS.

I think HGTV also makes people constantly feel like they need to "keep up with the Jones" and that leads to a feeling of inadequacy when they feel that their home isn't as fancy/lavish as what they see on TV. The truth is that most of the people you see buying mansions on TV are probably living beyond their means, which I refuse to do.

Sorry...rant over. I've just been receiving Zillow listings all day from the Mrs., but when I approach the subject of discussing what I'd need in a different house to make me move, I'm told that I'm creating stress.
