OK nay-sayers... time to put up or shut up...

First off, let’s all just throw our decades of watching VT basketball out there as valid credentials. Cool. We’re all now super-qualified prognisticators. You, me, hell everybody but those damn millenials.

Now that we’re experts, let’s consider that this team is ranked in the Top 10 and headed up and some of you don’t want to believe it. I totally get the skepticism and you’re wrong. Do me a favor or three

1. Look at our resume to date and tell me where we should be ranked.
2. Look at our remaining schedule and tell me what you think our most likely ACC record will be. If you think we are most likely to finish with fewer than 11-12 wins, please provide justification.
3. If you agree with me and think that this is a 22-23 win regular season, please show me why you think a 22-23 win ACC team isn’t around a #4 seed in the NCAAT. Please use end of season W-L rankings and compile your rationale while sober.
Okay.. 4. Go to the latest Bracketology. We’re a 4 seed in it. Is Bracketology in January stupid? Yes. Ok, we agree. Now, look at the draw of a 4 seed and tell me that you have watched this team and don’t think this team can win two games with that draw. That’s Sweet 16.
I lied 5. Get used to it. This team is good really good. You can doubt it. You can throw up your shield and brace for the worst. I get it.

Barring injury, this team is in a fantastic position. We’ll probably lose a game or two that we shouldn’t. We’ll probably win a game or two that we shouldn’t. We’re not going to go away this year and this team is going to knock your shields down and drag you into the light. I obviously have no idea how this is going to end, but I guarantee that it will be one hell of a ride.

Get ready winter is coming.
