I spoke with a guy last winter who worked for one of the subcontractors on site and he said the word was that the GC's contract included huge liquidated damages for missing the completion deadline....I think he said it was something like $100,000/day overdue. That was all hearsay, so I have no idea if it's accurate. And certainly the GC should have been afforded some extension due to the harsh winter in Blacksburg last year.
