1) Mac was a late bloomer to start with. Always has been very athletic but didn’t really grow till between his sophomore and junior year.
2) VT did look at him as a sophomore and didn’t think he was good enough (and back then then he wasn’t). There was also a personality clash. Mac supposedly wasn’t a big fan of Buzz. And I’m not sure Mac fits what Buzz looks for either from a personality standpoint. Just is what it is...not a bad thing either way. Fit matters though, they learned that with his sister.
3) Mac worked his tail off and got A LOT better between his sophomore and junior seasons and even moreso between his junior and senior seasons.
4) Mac never really considered VT and found a great fit for him that offered immediate playing time.
5) some VT fans need to LET IT GO.
