The Power 5 are basically the SEC Network, the Big Ten Network, the PAC 12 Network, the ACC Network and the Longhorn Network. And in that arrangement the Longhorn Network is like a wildcard. I'd put it along the lines of the NBC Notre Dame Contract.

Decisions will be made going forward I think on what these entities need to be successful and grow. I don't see other entities ripping football away from them to organize in another manner too easily.

So the real analysis would be whether or not there are pieces in the Big XII, American Athletic Conference, Mountain West Conference, and Independents that can fit into these 5 networks somehow to grow their business model.

Texas doesn't seem to want to play ball, so they're sort of on the sideline. The PAC 12 Networks needs another model badly. The ACC Network is not quite off the ground. These networks are evolving to control the content and to sell it to streaming services like Disney/ABC/ESPN is getting off the ground along with Amazon, Netflix, Facebook, etc.

Schools not part of any of these networks need to work to become part of one of them IMO in the next decade. Conferences are set up to move away from being Conferences toward being television.
