Most of what we eat are Chinese Chestnuts ...a tree not susceptible to the


blight. They are hybridizing and finding cultivars that would grow similar to the American Chestnut. Those were spectacular trees....huge. I've seen stumps in my backpacking days of old American Chestnuts....very distinctive woodgrain.
