Read it all, enough to gain a little Pirate perspective

Sounds like there is a division amongst ECU fans, not just over the handling of the hurricane emergency. Yes, I agree with those who think the ECU administration botched the deal, but it appears there was no one with long term wisdom taking authority over a crisis situation. Dr. Steger was inordinately ostracized personally in the same way over the shootings. Btw, I have said all along that I am thankful to Pirate Nation for their kind response to Tech's need after those shootings. So I harbor no animosity to the good people of Greenville, North Carolina as they experienced a catastrophic hurricane. Which makes me wonder, the community was ordered to evacuate, so why not a welcoming Blacksburg? Yeah, we may have become overcrowded, but strength is in numbers and in the experience. Instead the ECU AD's office chose Orlando instead like a scalded dog exiting stage left with his tail between his legs.

There has been a lot of verbiage on TSL about cancelling the ECU series. I get it, and I prolly am amongst the yeas. But I also must admit if ECU goes, who do we play next? Beating Marshall ain't gonna get us many points on the way to the top. Neither is Liberty or ODU. A
s a matter of fact ODU cost us immeasurably this year. Be honest: if we had to have a loss, would you chose ODU or ECU?. This is why the ACC needs to go to 9 league football games. Credibilty at some point comes into play in scheduling, and there's not much more credible than league opponents. I like the idea of some on the Pirates' board to not play the ECU/VT game every year, but wean ourselve to home and homes, then 2-3 years break.
