with each conference playing a 9 game round-robin schedule. Each conference champ makes the 8-team championship playoff. With the round-robin format, there would be no need for a conference championship game but I doubt the conferences or networks would drop them because of the money. You could bring back the original Big 10 and Pac 10. I'd keep the ACC as it was back in 2004 but drop Maryland to have 10 teams. The SEC would have all of it's east of the Mississippi River members (minus LSU) to get to 10. The Southwest Conference (new South-West Conference) would keep 7 of its 9 members (minus Rice and SMU) and add LSU, USF, and UCF to get to 10. The Big 8 could keep 7 of it's 8 members (Colorado to the Mountain West) and add Louisville, Cincinnati, and either Memphis or Tulsa to get to 10 to become the Midwest Conference. The Northeast Conference could have BC, Syracuse, Army, Navy, Pitt, Penn State, Maryland, Rutgers, WVU, and Notre Dame. The Mountain West would have Colorado, Colorado State, Air Force, Utah, BYU, Boise State, Fresno State, UNLV, San Diego State, and Hawaii. The big losers would be UConn, Tulsa or Memphis, Rice, SMU, New Mexico, Wyoming, SJSU, Marshall, ECU, Appalachian State, Temple, and a few others.
