but if VT starts throwing more money at the wrestling program and the SERTC does not have to cover as many things out of it's own budget, there is more money to go around for Coaches, freestyle trips, etc. These things attract more wrestling talent when the program is able to support more activities. I don't pretend to know anything about anything about the VT budgets or what restrictions they have from incoming donations. All I am saying is that when you get a $50M cash infusion (even if it is allocated for a specific purpose), it will often free up funds to go elsewhere. I have no idea if this particular gift will mean anything for the wrestling program in particular, but it could if it helps divert cash to other academic buckets that no longer require as much university funding.
