but I hear what you're saying about FB and MBB. I think we'll have to see how this plays out, as 5 years is a small sample. Probably need to go 25 years at least to see the impact on conference and TV money. For Basketball, the ACC will always be king, money or not. Football is a different story. I'm still going with my 37th parallel theory. If you're above the 37th parallel, you're just not as successful (or maybe fanatical).

The ACC has gotten a great start, but needs to expand more than just FSU and Clemson. To answer your question, FSU did it because they had money to begin with. Clemson, however, is a bit more impressive maybe the "Dabo" affect.

EDIT: by the way, the ACC has been arguably the best conference in basketball and olympic sports well before the money came in. Football needs to improve so that it's not Clemson with "13 other" schools. Maybe Miami and FSU can get back on track.
