I lost a bunch of weight doing Atkins in 1998. Then I had a kid &

moved to Texas and gained it all back....and then some. I got down to my HS weight of 165. Then got as high as 275. I was only 225 when I started Atkins in 1998.

The last 5-6 years have been a real struggle. I bounce 20lbs either way every year. However I never really went Keto, just watch carbs, still drink beer on weekends and exercise. Plus a lot of weekend cheating.

Getting close to 50 (will be next week) I’m much more conscious of my health. Too many BP pills & other pills. Plus now watching sugar closely. Diabetes runs in the family.

In 2-1/2 months of Keto I’m down about 25, but if feels like more. My sugar is down about 15pts on average and read 95-100 most mornings. Feel good too and sleeping better.

I still need to lose another 50, but I don’t mind eating Keto. I’m 6’ 230 now and have always been a carnivore. At first I weighed and measure food to reach macros, but now I can pretty much tell from experience. I’m also hardly ever hungry. Don’t eat breakfast. Eat a very small lunch and eat dinner. Only drink water & black coffee, except for 1 bullet coffee a day. I love the bullet coffee. It does give a great pickme up. On weekends I wait until around 5 to have it.

The no booze was the hardest change. But now that I’ve been clean for a while, it’s not a big deal. Did go to a Cowboys game 2 weeks ago and had a Miller Lite. I actually gave 1/2 of my 2nd one to my wife.

The 1st 2-3 weeks are the hardest, and they say it takes 6-8 weeks to fully adjust. I concur.

My wife loves carbs, but she’s even talking about joining me after the 1st. She’s even cut out the sugar already.
