One man's opinion

Add up all of these "buyer's remorse" articles and how many voices does it represent? The article is meant to be controversial and to get the attention of readers. (Clearly, this writer succeeded.) Who would read an article announcing that the B1G expansion seems to be working out okay? I'm not saying that every B1G football fan agrees with the expansion, but the outcry seems to be limited to these occasional articles and the not-so-frequent message board post.

If the B1G held a vote, maybe a majority of he fans would wish for a return to old Big Ten. But I wouldn't bet on it. If they voted to swap Rutgers and Maryland for Louisville and Pitt, where would that fall? Sweeten the deal: Rutgers and Maryland for Louisville, Pitt, Syracuse and BC. I think the B1G would signal "declined."

Forget about W-L records, management scandals and UMD's internal finances. The B1G scored a win with both Rutgers and Maryland.
