The endodontist was able to finish the root canal Wednesday (the same day the dentist started it). I do snore, and the night before and the night after the procedures my sinus completely clogged on that side when I laid down to go to sleep; that sinus did not fill up last night. Just this morning had an ulcer show up on my bottom lip (not in the immediate area of the molar). I have been taking antibiotics since last Friday, but I didn't take the prescribed does on Wednesday or yesterday. Your thought about antibiotics causing a gum issue is certainly a possibility - my gums are irritated across my entire mouth, not just in the vicinity of the molar.

The tooth pain on the molar and jaw in the immediate area was understandably worse yesterday than it was prior to the procedures, but it spiked even more overnight to the point that even taking a big gulp of water is extremely painful to the molar that was worked on AND the one next to it. The pain in the rest of my mouth is tolerable, but the immediate area around the molar has gone from a constant 3 (on a 10-pt scale) previously to about a 7 or 8 today. Last night it was probably a 6 or 7.

The endodontist has recommended Prednisone to settle down any residual gum inflammation, and said if I'm not feeling materially better by Monday he wants to see me again to diagnose what else might be going on.
