BLUF (Bottom line up front): Not a fan.

Background: I typically use two pair of running shoes during any period, rotating between them every other day. Brooks shoes have become my "mainstay," but I like to periodically rotate in different running shoes from other manufactures. I also wear out 3-4 pair of running shoes/year (Being a "Clydesdale" runner doesn't help here...lol). I'm to the point where I'll always have one pair of Brooks, and occasionally rotate in a pair from Nike, New Balance, Asics, Sarcony, etc.

This was my first pair of Hokas. I've been walking (not running) in these for several weeks to get used to them. My feel have felt a little "tired" wearing them, but I just discounted that as being "new." (Haven't felt this with any other shoe from any other brand.) This morning was my first trip to the gym to put them through their paces. No issues with the "run/walk" part of the workout, but when I jumped on the elliptical machine, my feet really didn't feel very good after about 20 minutes. Not sure what the problem is, maybe too much cushioning and not enough support? Will continue to wear them through their life cycle, and see if it improves.

But for now, they off my "buy" list.

Brooks is still the king.
