Cutting the Cord

So I was at a friend's house on Saturday night and we were watching the Bama game on DirecTV Now. I was blown away by the quality of it.

I've been thinking about cutting the cord for a while now because my cable bill is just insane. I have an Amazon Firestick and older versions of AppleTV (it won't support DTV Now). I was looking at the Amazon Fire TV Cube ($120) and the newest Apple TV ($180-200).

I really like the interface with Amazon but we have a bunch of Apple products in our house (laptop, iPads, iPhones, etc.). I used the remote for the Apple TV and thought the touch pad was ok and would take some getting used to, but I did like the volume buttons (Amazon doesn't have them for some reason). AppleTV also has more storage space, but we really don't download a lot of stuff...we just stream.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. Based on my research, the AppleTV may be a bit faster. I just want to make sure that I have a good device to support streaming TV.
