Little to no effect for OSU or PSU...

as a matter of fact, PSU simply breezed by one of the most high profile scandals in college football. They're doing just fine in football, even taking the better players from the Commonwealth of Virginia over local schools VT and UVa who have no scandals. OSU has had scandals in the past. The Meyer thing is a nothing burger in the overall scheme of their wealthy football program. OSU goes relatively unscathed and will continue to be a top 10 football program.

UMCP will be the same as they were. They weren't great before and they won't be great after. Nothing to see there.

But while we're singling outbthe B1G, what about all the corrupt programs and scandals in all the other P5s? Louisville, Miami, UNC, Syracuse and FSU are all in the ACC. Hookers, blow, skipping classes for decades, pedophilia and Jameis Winston troubles to name just a few. Each P5 have their skeletons. The SEC seems to cover up well, but football is a religion worth protecting in the SEC. Regardless, these schools seem to just move on as if it were a blip on the radar.

Now. if a big scandal hits GT, VT, Pitt or BC it would likely set back those athletic programs because these institutions themselves all seem to have a higher standard and would probably not overlook a scandal in the name of athletic money. Why? Because the academic brand is more important than the athletic brand. Seems like OSU and PSU could do the same since they are both good academic universities, but they are too married to the idea of keeping that football brand healthy. Other B1G schools that would not overlook a big scandal are probably Purdue, Northwestern, Minnesota and maybe even Wisconsin (just a gut from them).

EDIT: To your point about younger fans. Young fans are losing interest in sports in general. You can see that drop off in all major pro and college sports. If video games competitions becames a sanctioned NCAA "sport" or rather event, millenials would likely be way more interested. So I don't see college scandals impacting young viewers unless it personally affected them, but that would be a minute sample size. In general, most kids probably follow college athletic news less than they follow politics... and I'm convinced they don't really follow politics either.
