The article ignores so many factors...
that figure in to changes depending upon the outcome of the case. Massive facilities investments, debt service for some on these investments and public taxpayer dollars for others, TV contracts, grant of rights agreements, other NCAA sports, etc., etc., it will not be a simple shift or split of academic vs. athletic or the disappearance of athletic scholarships. College sports is certainly the highest profile/most visible piece of some university's operation, however, no one should lose sight of the real fact that at every single one of these member institutions if they make athletic centric decisions it is akin to allowing the tail to wag the dog. You are talking about institutions with multibillion dollar budgets/operations and athletics constituting less than 10%.of operations even at the largest institutions.
