and only a select few receive 5-stars. With that said, many of the 4 and 5 star players end up with the ACC's top programs (UNC, Notre Dame, UVA, Duke, BC, and FSU). What catches my eye is that Chugger is getting players from the same soccer clubs every year. Maybe that's a good thing, maybe not? Chugger isn't getting recruits from the West Coast like he used to. I think he has 2 players on the roster now from the West Coast (1 from Washington and 1 from California). Most ACC teams have more players from California, Washington, Colorado, and Texas than we do. Chugger seems to be focusing on the ACC geographic footprint (Florida to New England). We also only have 2 international players on our roster while many ACC teams are loaded with them. Maybe Chugger doesn't feel it's worth the time and effort to go out west or over seas and wants to focus on the East Coast? I don't know. I think Virginia Tech and Blacksburg would be attractive to high school players. Tech is a good school academically with numerous majors to offer. The campus and area is beautiful. Tech plays in the competitive ACC. The facilities are nice (probably could be a bit nicer compared to the ACC elite programs).
