Beck would be sitting on an even longer bench with this kid in the same class. Salahuddin turned down USC, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and a dozen other top offers to play at Pitt. Narduzzi isn't taking any carries away from this kid to play Beck.

Narduzzi probably saw Beck as a fallback offer in the event that he didn't get Salahuddin. I don't know all the details, but I can read an offer list. Of course Narduzzi would say he wanted Beck, coaches say that about every offer.
