Most notable was Ricky Bustle

He was Beamers OC/QB coach from 1995 to 2001. Bustle left to be the head coach at Louisiana-Lafeyette. Clearly Virginia Tech > La-Laf. But it was a shot to be a head coach.

Another guy would be Todd Grantham. He was a DL on the Hokies when Beamer started coaching at Tech. After graduating, Grantham was a grad assistant and spent five years on Beamer's staff. He's done quite well for himself since then.

Of course there is Scot Loeffler. Many Tech fans will dismiss Loeffler. But he was the QB coach for some guy named Tom Brady. Michigan grad, BC offensive coordinator. A head coaching job is likely in his future.

The other guy whose name escapes me is the defensive guru they brought in to tweak the defense in the early 2000s. He played a role in moving the Tech defense from the wide tackle six to a 4-3, which morphed to Foster's current defense.
