What if you made a claim against your own policy. And let your ins. co


try to get it from the other guy's insurance.

Thinking about it more, probably wouldn't work if that was the existing condition of the house when you bought it. Your insurance company would just kick it back outright. I was thinking of auto insurance if someone else hit you. You might be able to make a claim against your own policy, and let the insurance company chase the other guy.
