Yes, he throws great jump balls

like many QBs. Jump balls are part of the game where you place the ball hoping the defender cannot turn around in time. These things can happen:

O catches the ball
O gets an incomplete
D gets a PI
D pats down ball
D intercepts

IMHO, probability goes down from top to bottom because it should be thrown in man coverage and the D needs to be able to turn around. ECU one time showed VT that jump balls can really work.

JJ protects the ball better than Willis. Willis is able to spread the field better and has one hell of an arm compared to JJ. Willis does seem to throw into coverage where some are double teamed and triple teamed. Willis stares down receivers, especially Hazelton.

All this is my opinion. I see why JJ is picked over Willis.

With that, I am a Hokie, a fan, so I can give my opinion from my couch eating potato chips. My opinions can at times smell like my butt hole.

I agree with Pride_and_Joy. He is not degrading Willis mojo, but pointing out this drive was as lucky as Tyrod making two plays against Nebraska. UNC and Nebraska deserved to win, but VT got very lucky by two QBs making plays on the last drive.
