Those throws do loosen up the running game though...
Opponents know Willis will heave it down the field, so they have to drop more guys into coverage. That's why Willis was able to run for 88 yards. Josh Jackson was very conservative in passing so opponents knew they could stack the box, and even though JJ had some mobility he was still getting sacked or dropped for little gain on his runs.
It may make us uneasy, but Willis' downfield heaves help the running game, and his impromptu scrambles help the passing game. Do you think defensive coordinators would rather prepare for JJ or Willis?
