The fans try hard for this program to make Lane
hostile. They can only do so much. Despite the fact that this team had big losses at Lane against Clemson and ODU. The fans still try to get up for the game to support the team. Makes them look bad to some from outside of the fanbase, just for the team to get blown out at home. But, that's not on the fans by any means.
It's on the coaching staffs who never have this program ready to take the big steps. And it's on recruiting. But, failing to win big games only drives 4 and 5 Star recruits to Bama, Clemson etc...which means the Hokies are only left with 3 star recruits or lower wanting to come here. It's a cycle of both losing big games and not being able to recruit better talent to close the gap.
Yes, Hokie Nation should learn how to lower our expectations on what this program can do. Nothing wrong with hoping for better outcomes though.
