You never saw Glen Combs play

In an era that there were no dunks, freshmen couldn't play, there were no three point shots, and players had to stay four years, VT made it to the Elite 8 with a team with a 6'5" center and a guard who could shoot 4 pointers (just outside the center circle). And before you say there were no real players in 1967 (a bunch of white guys in short pants), the All American team included Lew Alcindor, Wes Unseld and Elvin Hayes. Glen Combs made no AA teams but was the best pure shooter to ever play at Cassel and was no slouch as a ball handler and defender. And his team was the best ever at VT, hands down. Results are results
