I agree to an extent
We simply do not know what will happen. ND almost joined the Big East in full in 2003. It was this close >< for about 24 hours. I know this because I used to have a neighbor that was an officer on the BoT. He has since passed away and he was shocked that it came that close to happening. Of course this was during those crazy days in May and June of 2003. After it all settled, he said that while ND had told the Big 10 no three times, if it was ever forced to join a conference because of the path to the national title, it would fall into the Big Ten camp.
Perhaps times have changed but ND is not quick to change such ideas and the people running the place stay on for decades at a time. The simple truth is that, you want to think that, but have no way of knowing for sure. It seems reasonable and I agree that it is unlikely, but not because it is the Big-10 but because I do not think ND will ever join a conference.
I do not get the fuss over ND. Everything about ND in 2018 is as a has been and to be honest you have to go pretty far back to a time when ND was something that mattered in football - thirty years ago - 1988. Sure, ND increases ticket sales when you host them, but so do all major programs. ND, in my opinion is more trouble than it is worth to any conference.
