Any FSU weaknesses most likely found in the front 7
So I think you're asking the wrong question. You have to put it in context of our emerging ground game
They replace all 3-4 linebackers from a unit that was iffy at times last season, and some all-americans from the DL are gone too.
Coaches feel like we've got a little something going finally on the ground, and they are surely going to try to establish that ground game with an experienced Oline against FSU's inexperienced DL.
So, I think the idea of being aggressive or not is an anachronism from the Beamer era who actually often played not to lose from 14:59 of the first quarter. Beamer often came out of the gate to establish field position first, score second, particularly against superior talent.
Fuente seeks to score every time we have the ball by whatever method is most effective. Against FSU, the ground game will likely be "Plan A" on paper, so it may appear that we are being conservative, in reality, it may just be our best way to move the ball consistently, and keep FSU on their heels. So, I don't think the conservative/aggressive principle applies as much anymore.
A more refined question would be will we come out assuming our only chance is a "puncher's" chance, and just swing for the fences? Not at all. We don't need to do that. We aren't Florida A&M. This is Virginia Tech. If FSU doesn't play their A game, they will lose.
