IMO, living on the Lynnhaven is fantastic. You can catch all kinds of fish

there inside the inlet - Puppy Drum, trout, and big Croakers in the fall were great fun. And having the bridge right there is awesome - Stripers, of course, but there are lots of species around - my son and I were just starting to get into Spadefish, for example, right before I left (loved that). And the ocean is only 5 miles out. Winter trolling inside the 3 mile limit for Rocks is a manly, feel good adventure. You get out there dressed like the guy on the Gorton's fish box, brave the biting winds nailing big Blues and Rocks up to 20 pounds - maybe a Bluefin Tuna if you are lucky! Gotta say, I sure miss it.
