to this story and I would guess people are scrambling all the way up the chain(governing body and Maryland politicians included) to make sure they have a seat at the table when the music stops. It was one thing when the issues were strictly tied to College Park athletics and finances but, with the death and the handling of all the surrounding issues it has now become a university and system problem. While most everyone recognized that financially Maryland probably had little choice other than to take the Big Ten payout many were very disenchanted with the way that change was orchestrated by Loh. Now he is 70+, will probably ride off in to the sunset with a buyout and his coveted title of a former president of a Big Ten university and others will be left to clean up the wreckage he has left.
