I've looked at IRAs, as well as loans from 401k (to plug any funding holes)


as a possibility. For a Roth, I believe you can use only the contribution amount rather than the growth amount towards qualifying expenses, i.e., child's higher educ...don't quote me on that though.
But yea, I've thought of the IRA route as well. That wouldn't change anything for me portfolio-wise, so it may certainly be a go-to.
