Yep. In the city of Norfolk, there are million dollar properties on a strip
of land (Willoughby Spit) that didn't exist 200 years ago. And there's no guaranty it will be there 200 years from now. Similarly, there is no guaranty any of the barrier islands from New Jersey to Texas will be there in 200 years. The ocean could reclaim them at any time. All it takes is a strong enough hurricane. The road that runs from Kitty Hawk to Hatteras seems to wash out at one point or another just about every year. Someday it's going to just be gone forever.
