Actually, we're no longer going to do that.

I emailed the RT sports editor and requested that the practice of posting links directly to our boards discontinue.

When Kyle Tucker first started doing it in the mid-2000s, and when Andy Bitter came on board in 2011, TSL did not have media access. we were not running the same kind of articles, so having the beat writers post their articles here was complementary and a nice addition to our site.

But in 2012, TSL gained media access and started going to the same press conferences and sitting in the Press Box on game day as well. In the last couple of years, the Roanoke Times has also added an online subscription component, making them a direct competitor to TSL, which they really weren't in years past.

We had grandfathered Andy in, but we think at this point in time, with the transition, that it is appropriate to discontinue the practice. We will still link their articles on Hokie news, so you can find them there. You can also follow Michael on Twitter, and get links to his work from there.
