Is it acceptable to use this abbreviation on my car registristration?

When submitting my car registration renewal, I'm supposed to make the check out to "John Doe, Travis County Tax Assessor-Collector", with John Doe being my local tax assessor/collector. This is a long name and title to include on my check, so I just abbreviate it as "Travis County Tax A$$". I've done this before, and they've always renewed things with no questions asked.

Is this wrong? I haven't sent it in yet, so it's not too late to change it if that's what the Lounge lawyers suggest.
