He's been on the support staff for Buzz his entire career. But he's never recruited before.

I've not heard good things about the recruiting ability of Webster and McNeilly. McNeilly had never recruited before when Buzz promoted him. And Webster only had 2-3 years of experience at the low-major and mid-major level. We badly need an assistant with a whole lot of recruiting experience, and who has ties somewhere in the mid-Atlantic and/or southeast. Promoting Johnson would be like hiring a third Webster/McNeilly, only with less experience.
