Too tough with academics and I blew out my shoulder


That resulted in my deciding to focus on school and it was a great decision for me. I spent the next three summers in Europe studying and ended up graduating near the top of my class with several individual awards. College was never an “option” for me. It was what you did. Baseball was an option that I could drop at anytime if needed. Most of these kids don’t have that option. It’s sports or streets. There were guys on that Last Chance U show that thought 1+1=1

It’s sad you guys can’t understand the socioeconomic differences in this country. I guess it makes you feel better to say, “I wasn’t handed everything, so nobody else should be”..all while you started about 500 paces in life ahead of the less fortunate.

I understand that it is easier to remain in your own stovepipe. This life is hard enough to live on your own, right? Sure, but I would try to be a little more empathetic and see where it gets you. It may change your perspective on humanity..
