If the G5s end up creating their own National Championship

then I am not sure fans and the TV money will go up. I say that because I could see fans viewing the "G5 National Championship" in the same light as they currently view the NIT and WNIT Championship in basketball especially if both the P5s and G5s are still in the same DI subdivision. If the money isn't worth it, then no private entity will invest money to organize a G5 Playoff and no media will pay a large sum of money to have the rights to broadcast it.

Now if DI is somehow able to create a third subdivision for the G5s, then maybe you could see a slight increase in fan support and increase in TV money. However, I am not sure there is enough support within the college Presidents and Athletic Directors to change the NCAA bylaws to create a third subdivision. Also, it would mean the G5s would be excluded from competing in the bowl games where a P5 school is the opponent. If bowl games are created for the G5 subdivision, then it would mean the bowl season would look like this:

FBS1 bowls (P5): P5 vs. P5
FBS2 bowls (G5): G5 vs. G5

If the NCAA allowed the G5s to compete against the P5s in bowl games while competing in a different subdivision, then it couldn't prevent the FCS schools from petitioning to be allowed to compete in FBS bowl games.
