True but that's not necessarily bad.
When coaches steer kids to easier classes and majors, I would guess that most of the time its done in the spirit of helping them succeed in the whole student-athlete thing. Noone benefits if the kid fails out of school and even super bright students will have trouble playing football and, say, doing well in an engineering degree (though interesting enough, Vinny Mihota is a math major and won an all ACC academic aware - so it can be done). I have no doubt that some coaches couldn't care less about it. But on the whole, I think they're looking reality in the face and trying to give good guidance to the kids.
